Configuring Notification Settings

Stay informed without being overwhelmed. Customize which notifications you receive and how you receive them.
Accessing Notification Settings
- Log in to InnGO dashboard
- Click Settings in menu
- Select Notifications tab
- Configure your preferences
- Click Save Changes
Types of Notifications
1. Booking Notifications
New Booking Created
- Alert when new booking made
- Recommended: ON for front desk staff
- Choose: Email, SMS, or both
Booking Modified
- Alert when booking dates/room changed
- Helps track changes
Booking Cancelled
- Immediate alert of cancellations
- Important for revenue tracking
2. Check-In/Check-Out Alerts
Upcoming Check-Ins
- Daily summary at 8am
- Lists all guests checking in today
- Helps prepare rooms
Check-In Reminder (2 hours before)
- Individual alert per guest
- Sent 2 hours before check-in time
Upcoming Check-Outs
- Daily summary at 8am
- Guests checking out today
- Prepare final bills
3. Payment Notifications
Payment Received
- Alert when guest pays
- Shows amount and method
- Useful for accountants
Payment Overdue
- Guest hasn't paid by due date
- Helps follow up on collections
- Sent daily until paid
Balance Due Alert
- Partial payment made, balance remains
- 1 day before check-in
4. Subscription & Billing Alerts
Subscription Expiring Soon
- 7 days before renewal date
- Reminder to check payment method
Payment Failed
- Subscription payment didn't go through
- Action required to avoid service interruption
Invoice Available
- Monthly invoice ready to download
- For accounting records
5. Occupancy Alerts (Professional Plan)
Low Occupancy Warning
- Set threshold (e.g., below 50%)
- Alerts you to boost marketing
High Occupancy Alert
- Near full capacity (e.g., above 90%)
- Consider raising prices

- When room marked for maintenance

Notification Delivery Methods
1. Email Notifications
Best for: Detailed information, non-urgent alerts
Configuring Email Notifications:
- Settings → Notifications → Email
- Check which alerts to receive via email
- Enter email address (can differ from login email)
- Choose email frequency:
- Instant (as they happen)
- Daily digest (one email per day)
- Weekly summary
- Save
💡 Avoid Spam: Use daily digest if you get too many individual emails!
2. SMS Text Notifications
Best for: Urgent alerts, when away from computer
Enabling SMS Alerts:
- Settings → Notifications → SMS
- Enter mobile phone number
- Verify number with OTP code
- Select which alerts to receive via SMS
- Save
SMS Alert Options:
- New bookings
- Cancellations
- Payment received
- Payment failed
📱 SMS Charges: Standard SMS rates apply. Professional plan includes 100 free SMS/month.
3. In-App Notifications
Best for: When actively using InnGO
- Bell icon in top-right corner
- Red badge shows unread count
- Click to view all notifications
- Mark as read or dismiss
4. Browser Push Notifications
Best for: Desktop alerts when InnGO tab not active
- Settings → Notifications → Push Notifications
- Click Enable Push Notifications
- Allow in browser permission popup
- Get desktop alerts even when browsing elsewhere

Quiet Hours
Prevent notifications during specific hours:
- Settings → Notifications → Quiet Hours
- Enable "Do Not Disturb"
- Set time range (e.g., 10pm - 7am)
- Choose which notifications can override:
- Emergency only
- Payment failures only
- None (all blocked)
- Save
Notifications queued during quiet hours are sent when it ends.
Email Digest Settings
Instead of individual emails, get one summary:
- Settings → Notifications → Email Digest
- Enable "Daily Digest"
- Choose delivery time (e.g., 8am)
- Select what to include:
- New bookings
- Payments received
- Today's check-ins/outs
- Occupancy summary
- Save
Example Daily Digest:
Subject: Your InnGO Daily Summary - November 15, 2025
- 3 new bookings yesterday
- 5 guests checking in today
- 4 guests checking out today
- ₦85,000 payments received
- Occupancy: 72%
Guest Notification Settings
Control what guests receive:
Guest Email Templates
- Settings → Notifications → Guest Emails
- Enable/disable guest notifications:
- Booking confirmation
- Check-in reminder (1 day before)
- Payment receipt
- Check-out thank you
- Review request (after check-out)
- Customize email templates
- Save
💡 Guest Experience: Keep all guest emails enabled. They appreciate reminders and confirmations!
Managing Notification Overload
Too Many Notifications?
Solutions:
- Switch to email digest instead of instant emails
- Disable low-priority alerts
- Use in-app only for non-urgent items
- Reserve SMS for critical alerts only
- Enable quiet hours
Missing Important Alerts?
Solutions:
- Check spam/junk folder
- Add support@inngo.com to contacts
- Enable SMS for critical alerts
- Turn on browser push notifications
- Check in-app bell icon regularly

Review all past notifications:
- Click bell icon (top right)
- Click View All Notifications
- Filter by:
- Date range
- Notification type
- Read/unread
- Search for specific notification
Troubleshooting Notifications
Not Receiving Email Notifications
- Check spam/junk folder
- Verify email address in Settings → Account
- Check notification settings are enabled
- Add support@inngo.com and noreply@inngo.com to contacts
- Test with "Send Test Notification"
Not Receiving SMS Notifications
- Verify phone number is correct
- Check you have SMS credits (Professional plan)
- Ensure phone has signal
- Check if phone blocks unknown senders
- Contact support if persistent
Browser Push Not Working
- Check browser permissions for InnGO
- Re-enable in Settings → Notifications
